New strategic partnerships and initiatives increase PEANUTS presence in digital media and on Facebook and Co.
Multiple new partnerships and initiatives mark the worldwide expansion of the PEANUTS brand into the digital, web, and social arena. These strategic activities are propelling the timeless classic brand into a leading global entertainment and multi-media property. Over the next few months, fans will experience PEANUTS in multiple new formats, with more to come in 2012 and beyond.
“It is one of the highest priorities for Team! Licensing and Peanuts Worldwide to deliver the PEANUTS brand to younger generations”, says Gerold Kolenbrander, CEO Team! Licensing. “Together with Peanuts Worldwide and licensing partners we substantially expand our efforts for PEANUTS into the digital, web and social networks.”
The new marketing strategy consists of:
• MOBILE GAMING: Snoopy will very soon capture the German Smartphone market. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the new PEANUTS iPhone games and apps from Adgame-Media GmbH, which are available soon. Also, Capcom’s wholly owned subsidiary, Beeline™ Interactive, will develop a new freemium game for smartphones and tablets based on the PEANUTS characters. The game, which is expected to be available this fall, will feature fan favorites Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, Linus and many, many more.
• SOCIAL MEDIA: The official PEANUTS Facebook site recently launched to great success. In a very short period of time the site has attracted close to 900.000 fans, the page offers fans a way to interact with their favorite brand and characters and also demonstrates the continued popularity of Charles M. Schulz’s characters across the globe. In addition, Cedar Fair Amusement Parks has launched Amazement Park, an all new Facebook gaming application. While playing the game, fans can build and manage their very own virtual amusement park equipped with the popular Planet Snoopy attractions. And not enough, fans can also follow Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang on Twitter and on their own YouTube channel.
• DIGITAL APPS: iVerse has been carefully compiling vintage PEANUTS strips and will be releasing them for purchase this September at www.itunes.com. The first two collections include “It’s a Dog’s Life, Snoopy” and “It’s a Big World, Charlie Brown”.
• WEB: Fans of all ages can now experience an all new expanded web presence for PEANUTS on the new and enhanced PEANUTS website. The website will be continuously expanded over the next months and local requirements will be localized and integrated.
